Ford EcoSport price up by Rs 10-13k, another hike expected next month

New Government has extended excise duty cuts further. But due to rising input costs and labour costs, car makers are planning on increasing car prices across range. Renault has already announced a 1% hike in Duster, Scala and Pulse prices. The latest to announce price hike is Ford India. New price is in effect from 1st July 2014.

Ford EcoSport priceFord India increased prices of their best selling compact SUV EcoSport by INR 10,000 for the base variants and INR 13,000 for the top end variants. Surprisingly, prices of other Ford India cars remain unchanged. Their other cars on offer include – Fiesta, Fiesta Classic, Figo and Endeavour.

Ford India sells an average of 4,000 units of EcoSport per month. Sold in Ambient, Trend, Titanium and Titanium (O) variants, new prices of EcoBoost Diesel Ambiente base variant – 9.06 lakhs, and that of Ecoboost Titanium variant – 10.52 (White color) other colors 4-6k difference. Bookings of all variants are open, and they are available for delivery.

Other surprising fact is that Ford India might increase price of their cars again next month, revealed a dealer in Coimbatore. All prices above are on-road Coimbatore.

Recently, Ford India has launched the 2014 Fiesta priced at INR 7.69 lakhs (ex-Delhi). Fitted with Microsoft Sync in its interiors and a front grille inspired from the Aston Martin, the new Fiesta is offered in three variants, Ambient, Trend and Titanium and receives a 1.5 liter TDCi turbo diesel engine claiming to have fuel efficiency of 25 kmpl.
