Ford in India employees come together to do more for Global Week of Caring (GWC)

During the recent Ford Global Week of Caring, about 1000 employees from Ford in India came together with about 12,000 volunteers from all over the world to bring joy and happiness to many under privileged masses. During the week, they undertook projects like installing drinking waters projects, sanitation awareness programs as also distributed footwear to children.

With a vision of making the world a better place, volunteers helped to install toilet fixtures to ensure proper sanitation for children going to school. In addition to this children in over 5 schools received about 1000 pairs of shoes. Eye checks up camps were also held for these children. An inter school quiz contest was organized in which over 1000 children participated. Through their Water Smart camping, volunteers also set up purification systems which will provide 2,500 children safe drinking water sources.

Tree plantation drives were also organized, volunteers conducted street plays and organized door to door campaigns to provide information to the masses based on water sustainability and conservation practices. With the influx of about $28,000 most of the non profit organizations were able to complete projects which were needed for the betterment of individuals.
