Ford India to start exporting new Figo to Algeria this month

Ford India will be commencing export of the upgraded version of Ford Figo this month, as it plans exports to Algeria. This hatchback will be shipped to Algeria from its Maraimalai Nagar plant near Chennai, which is the only plant manufacturing Ford Figo. It is from here that the Figo makes its way to 35 other international markets.

Elsecom Motors, Algeria, Ford’s official dealer in the country has confirmed sale of Ford Figo which will start from around 1.1 million Algerian Dinars (Rs.7.47 lakhs). The Figo will possess features such as ABS, dual airbags, central locking, power windows and electrically adjustable mirrors. With a 1.2 liter petrol engine, the Ford Figo will offer 75 bhp and will be mated to a 5 speed manual gear box similar to the way it is being offered in Indian markets.

Ford Figo also recently made its way into Nepal markets where it retailed for between 1.84 million to 2.37 million Nepalese Rupees for its petrol engined Figo while the diesel variant is available for 2.2 to 2.74 million Nepalese Rupees. Ford Figo comes with a warranty of 100,000 kms or 2 years whichever is first.
