"The Financial Express" reported that Ford Motor Company has announced taking up a project on manufacturing sub-5 tonne pickup trucks for the Indian market. However, concerned company officials have denied these reports, and revealed that they are currently not studying the Indian market but are obviously willing to understand its customer requirement and business structure, and they haven't come up with any positive decisions about starting business in the commercial vehicle segment.
Ford Motor Company is widely known for its F-series full sized trucks in the overseas market and specific models like the F-150 are quite popular and have gained decent praise widely as the best selling truck for the past 33 years.
As per an unidentified source for "The Financial Express," the company has confirmed the introduction of these 5-tonnes light and medium-duty trucks from Chennai but Ford Motor officials have politely denied any such speculation.
