Frenchman backflips MINI yet again: Photos & Video
34 year old Frenchman, Guerlain Chicherit has done it again. He has performed yet another dare devil stunt with the MINI. This time, he has taken a MINI ALL4 to the winter sports resort of Tignes where he performed the stunt using a static ramp. The result was the MINI flipped, went into the air and landed back intact on its four wheels on a soft snowy surface.
What is outstanding, is the fact that though many have attempted to flip a MINI, they have all achieved the feat with the assistance of a special ramp with moving elements which assists the vehicle in its flipping motion. Here Chicherit as done it with a static ramp which makes his task even more difficult and the end result even more impressive.
The stunt will get Chicherit into the Guinness Book of World Records. The 34 year old is also a four time world freestyle skiing champion. He has won the French Rally Championships twice and is also on the X Raid Team which led MINI ALL4 to consecutive wins in the 2012 and 2012 Dakar Rally. MINI stated: “The backflip had previously been attempted by other drivers. But Chicherit has now become not only the first automotively-propelled artist to execute a perfect landing, he also did it “unassisted” – in other words, without the aid of a special ramp with moving elements to boost the car’s rotational movement.”
Guerlain had performed an unassisted backflip in the MINI earlier. You can watch him performing his stunts in the MINI in the videos below.
