Furious 7 ticket sales collection cross Rs 6,755 crores in 17 days

In a little over two weeks, Furious 7 ticket sales collection has managed to cross $1.08 billion (Rs 6,755 crores or Euro 999 million) mark. In India, this movie has become the first-ever Hollywood movie to cross the Rs 100 crore mark, and that too in just 8 days of premiere.

Starring Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto, the late Paul Walker as Brian O’Conner and a newcomer – Jason Stathom as Deckard Shaw; Furious 7 is the first Universal Studios movie which has managed to cross the the $1 billion mark.

For reference – The movie which was highest grossing film at Universal Studios, a 103 year old film production company, before Furious 7, was E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial. This Steven Spielberg movie was released in 1982, and collected $435 million (Rs 2,720 crores) in ticket sales.

The $1 billion mark had only been broken by 19 movies, and Furious 7 is the 20th movie to breach that mark (and that too in record 17 days!). The other movies in this list includes –
