GAZ Group buses for XXII Olympic Winter Games

Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics is scheduled for February 7-23, 2014 and GAZ Group has already assured a total of 739 buses for the events. These buses have been designed especially for the games, with a total of 227 buses being modified for disabled athletes taking part in Paralympics and other events.

Keeping in mind  severe winter conditions and mountainous roads in the region, the company has put these buses to the test ahead of the games. The buses are priced in excess of RUB 6,000,000,000 and will operate on major routes between Olympic venues for the exclusive use of visitors and athletes. Delivery will be completed by end of this year.

The buses will include 282 units of large class GOLAZ 5251 Voyage, 370 buses of extra large GOLAZ 6228 and 57 tourist buses GOLAZ 52911 Cruise. 150 units of GOLAZ 5251 Voyage will be specially designed for passengers with limited mobility and will accommodate wheelchairs. All models will be safe and comfortable and are designed according to highest international standards.

GOLAZ 5251 Voyage is designed to accommodate upto 60 persons, while GOLAZ 52911 has seating capacity for 45 persons. On board comforts include climate systems, comfortable seating with folding tables in front, luggage shelves while buses designed for passengers with reduced mobility have special lifts, specific spaces for storage of wheelchairs and driver call buttons.
