General Motors China 2013 January sales 300,000 units.It was the combined sales of Shanghai GM, SAIC-GM Wuling and Buick, Chevrolet and Wuling brands that resulted in these record sales.
It was the combined sales of Shanghai GM, SAIC-GM Wuling and Buick, Chevrolet and Wuling brands that resulted in these record sales. Shanghai GM sold 154,220 units in China showing an increase of 24.3% YoY, SAIC-GM-Wuling sales touched the 151,819 unit mark, an increase of 26.6%. FAW-GM sales increased 84.5% to 4,490 units.
This high growth and good results were due to five more working days in January. The company is however gearing up for a 35 percent month on month fall in sales growth during the month of February due to the a week long Spring Festival holiday which will reduce working time by five days in February 2013. Nonetheless, combined sales of January and February 2013 should see growth rise by 25% YoY.
