Girl raped in Mumbai to Ahmedabad bound bus after failed elopement

Atrocities on women are rising day after day and last weekend, in another reported incident, a 14- year old girl was raped by her lover in a moving bus after a failed elopement. The incident which took place while the girl and her lover were returning to Ahmedabad has sparked fresh outrage on lax security for women commuters.

A complaint was launched against Shamad Ansari (20 years old) at Gomtipur police station by the girl’s parents. As per complaint filed, the girl had fallen in love with Shamad a relationship that was objected to by both families. Due to their families’ objection, the duo took off to Mumbai to get eloped but was refused help by their relatives forcing them to return to Ahmedabad.

On their way back, the girl was raped by Shamad in a bus belonging to Madhav travels forcing police authorities to seize the bus and take Shamad into custody. Last week, in Delhi a girl who was gang raped by four men was ferried about in a vehicle with tinted glass after the dastardly act was committed.
