General Motors India, in partnership with SAIC (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation and Wuling Automobiles (maker of China's largest selling vehicle), recently announced that they would be launching 'Sunshine' in India.
'Sunshine', with an estimated cost of around Rs 4-6 lakh, will join the ranks of Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo segment. It aims to target buyers from the B plus segment using a 1.3 litre diesel engine that is reliable, refined and economical instead of the capacity petrol engines available in the Chinese market.
According to Matt Tsien, Vice President of SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobiles Co. Ltd., "If and when we are bringing in passenger cars to India, they will be under the Chevrolet brand, while we are still studying the market when it comes to the light commercial vehicles".
'Sunshine', the cut-price people mover, has been designed and manufactured to move goods and people. If you're looking for a minivan that's economical and reliable, then the 'Sunshine' is surely worth buying.
