General Motors made a startling move when they shifted Chevrolet's top marketing guy, Mr. Jim Campbell. The move may refer to a greater emphasis on betterment of GM performance vehicles. The move could actually be a boon for Cadillac, Corvette, and other smaller vehicles. This group of vehicles are better known for image than performance.

As part of previous appointment, Jim Campbell made news for a memo asking GM employees to stop calling the Chevrolet, Chevy. In his new capacity with the company, Campbell would deal with fans, and crew working with international motorsport. The most significant mention here would be his impending relationship with the NASCAR circuit.

Mr Campbell, VP of GM's performance vehicles and motorsports witnessed the Corvette team's performance of the year, last week.  At Road America, both of GM's classic 'yellow and black' Corvettes secured first row positions for the GT Class. This ensured that the vehicles qualified for the 1st time this year, making it quite a delightful feat.
