GM India appoints new VP for Marketing, Sales and After Sales
With effect from January 1, 2013, Rajesh Singh will take over as new Vice President – Marketing, Sales and After Sales at General Motors India….
On assuming office, Rajesh Singh will be responsible for all Vehicle Sales, Service along with Marketing strategies at GM India. Singh will operate from the company’s corporate office in Gurgaon while he will have to report to the GM India President and Managing Director.
Rajesh Singh has over 20 years of experience in sales, service and marketing having started his career with Maruti in 1992 where he has held various offices both at regional and national levels. In 2012, Singh joined Havells India Limited as Senior VP Sales and Marketing and now gets ready to assume his new office from the start of 2013. GM India appoints Rajesh Singh as new Vice President Marketing, Sales & After- Sales
New Delhi: General Motors India today announced the appointment of Mr. Rajesh Singh as the new Vice President – Sales, Marketing & Aftersales, with effect from Jan 1, 2013.
Rajesh Singh will be responsible for the complete Vehicle Sales, Servicing & Marketing (VSSM) function of GM India. He will be based at the Corporate Office in Gurgaon and will report to the President & Managing Director of GM India.

Rajesh Singh brings with him over 20 years of experience in vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing. He began his career with Maruti in 1992 and has held various sales, marketing and network development positions at regional and national levels for Maruti. Earlier this year, he joined Havells India Ltd as Senior Vice President (Sales & Marketing).
Rajesh Singh holds a PGDM from IIM, Calcutta and B.Tech. from IIT, Delhi.
Following a transition period, Rajesh Singh will replace Ashwani Muppasani, who had assumed the VSSM leadership role on an interim basis in August this year. In both his role as Vice President of Global Purchasing and Supply Chain as well as Vice President of VSSM, Mr. Muppasani has made a significant contribution to the growth of GM’s business in India. “In addition to his important activities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our component Purchasing and Supply Chain Operations, Mr. Muppasani strengthened our sales and marketing operations and as well as supporting the successful launch of the Sail U-VA. He has played an instrumental role in growing our operations here in India.”
Ashwani Muppasani will be moving on to a new role in GM, which will be announced separately.
