GM is known for equipping its small cars with minimal features in order to maintain lowest possible price. But in a new development, the American car manufacturer will be trying all new marketing strategy for their car Chevrolet Cruze. GM has announced that they will be launching new edition of their sedan Cruze which will for the first time cost more than its competitors, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla and Cobalt.
The new Cruze will have 10 airbags – 4 more than what Honda offers in Civic and all new stability control. With these new features, new Cruze will cost $16,995 for its base model which when compared to Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla and Cobalt is costlier by $1340, $1545 and $2005 respectively.
GM strongly believes the new strategy will not fail them as they had applied a similar marketing strategy to their Chevy Malibu sedan in 2007. After the changes were applied, new Chevrolet Malibu Sedan was priced at $24,123, $1115 and $781 more than their respective rivals Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.
