Google Maps is one of the most popular and useful app today. It has changed how people travel. Travelers no longer need to rely on sign-boards or locals. All they have to do is use Google Maps to find their way. With more than 500 million downloads on Google Play Store, it seems that Google Maps has an even deeper use.
Flashes of memory, family faces, a few broken links and a picture of the map of India on his bedroom wall, led the youngster to delve further in finding his true home. Google Maps has brought Saroo to his Indian family, a family he would never have found had it not been for the efficiency and good organization of Google.
Twenty five years later since that fateful day when Saroo found himself lost and alone in a railway train, he has used Google to trace the train, his city, neighborhood and home and most of all his mother and siblings. The family is reunited and though it was like looking for a needle in a haystack, it was his grit, determination and destiny which has brought everyone together again.
