Maruti Suzuki India aims at doubling exports to 1.6 lakh vehicles approximately and looks forward to a 20% growth of overall sales this fiscal. Maruti Suzuki India Marketing and Sales Executive Officer Mayank Pareekh told journalists about the company’s plans to increase its export from 80,000 units last year to almost 100% in the upcoming financial year.
A –Star is the main car exported by MSI from India, which is manufactured at the company’s Indian facility and is exported to countries like Chile, Angola, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Algeria, and the U.A.E. Within 11 months, this car has created a huge boost in company sales to around 1 Lakh units by the end of December 2009, and plans include doubling those figures by this year’s end.
MSI also contract manufactures this model for Nissan. Nissan sells this model in Europe under the name Pixo. Parekh also expressed confidence in maintaining growth that the company has shown in the current financial year, which stands at approximately 22%.
