Gulf Foster a Child Car Drive on 13th January 2013
Gulf Oil Corporation is back with the eleventh edition of GULF FOSTER A CHILD CAR DRIVE which aims at providing opportunities for young orphaned children…
The event has been planned not only to provide a fun and frolicsome day for these children but also to sensitize people towards needs of the less fortunate in India. During this event, car teams will consist of a driver, navigator, a child, and an orphaned child. A route chart provided at the start of this trip will have to be deciphered by the child during the drive to Khandala.
70 entries on first-come basis are accepted. 5 prizes will be awarded for overall winners, and 3 prizes for all-ladies’ teams. There are Gulf prizes for best decorated car following the ‘Road Safety’ and ‘Save our trees & wild life’ theme.
Mr. Ravi Chawla said, “The children from these orphanages do not get the luxuries of life. Makar Sankranti, being such a joyous and family-oriented festival, we wanted to give a family to these kids, a day full of cheer and happiness. Looking at all these years, we know our efforts have paid off when look at the happy faces of the children.”
“We see these kids all year wishing for comforts so many other children are blessed with. We are very thankful to Gulf Oil for initiating such an activity and partnering with us, giving our kids a sense of family. We hope to be associated with many such activities and give each child what they deserve”, said Rev. Fr. Rui Comelo – Our lady’s Home.
