Gumpert Explosion sports car, 0-100km/h in under 3 seconds
Designed by Martin Frank, the Gumpert Explosion made its presence felt at the Geneva Motor Show. The new Explosion has a 2.0 liter engine and can attain a top speed of 299 kmph.
The new model Gumpert Explosion two seater sports car with a four wheel drive was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. It possesses a front engine with a tubular frame and chassis made of carbon fibre, glass reinforced plastic and aluminum composite contributing to its light weight. Developed and constructed by GSM Gumpert of Ingolstadt, Germany the new Explosion super sports car will immediately tweak the interest of to those who look for speed.
Explosion from Gumpert comes with a four cylinder 1984cc engine producing peak power of 414 bhp at 6450 rpm and peak torque of 384 lb/ft at 4500 rpm mated to a six speed paddle shift or six speed manual transmission. The four wheel drive offers max power of 429hp and max torque of 520 nm. Gumpert Explosion goes from 0-100km/h in under 3 seconds. Top speed is around the 300 km/hr mark.
The model on display at Geneva is a pre production model and series production is expected to commence immediately with first models to be made available in showrooms later this year. Where pricing is concerned, one can safely expect to see a price tag of €105,000 (£86,500, $144,000, INR 89,41,453) once the car is ready for sale.
