Harley Davidson Inc 5 year agreement with Infosys for partial IT outsourcing

Infosys Limited is India’s leading IT company and provider of business consulting, technology, engineering and outsourcing services headquartered in Bangalore, India. The company with operations in 30 countries and development centers in India, China, Australia, Canada, US and Japan will be opening a new technology and consultancy centre in Milwaukee for Harley Davidson Inc. A five year contract that been inked whereby Infosys will be providing services to Harley Davidson where their IT work is concerned.

Due to this outsourcing, 125 Harley IT workers which will include 83 workers at Milwaukee will be declared redundant and will lose their jobs. These employees may apply for new jobs being created at Harley and Infosys though both companies are not offering any guarantees.

As per terms of the agreement between the two companies, Infosys will have to open an office in Milwaukee as they take on IT services for Harley Davidson. This decision to outsource comes into effect as Harley Davidson is confident of the software giants being better capable to handle their IT work compared them handling it on their own.
