Harley-Davidson Street 750 and 500 tech specs and photos, India on the map
Harley-Davidson Street 750 and 500 motorcycles are all about bringing the company’s brand promise to a new global generation of young adults. The new line will cater to an urban need. The Street bikes will be priced to reach more customers. Street motorcycles for the North American market will be built at HD’s Kansas City plant.
Bawal India plant will be used to build street motorcycles for other international markets. Initial plans to launch in US, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and in India in Q2 of 2014.
Launch in other markets later in 2014 and into 2015. Harley Davidson expects first year shipment volumes to be between 7,000 -10,000 units.
Harley-Davidson Street 750 and 500 motorcycles feature an all-new liquid-cooled Revolution X powertrain. The new platform aims to introduce new buyers to the brand, namely global youth of both sexes. The low seated bikes certainly offer something to women, who would certainly feel more confident on the Street range.
Marketed towards a younger and new rider, Street 500 and 750 platform will also be integrated in the Riders Edge programme. To be retailed in US at a MSRP of $6700-7500 ensures it fits many a budget. Long term benefit would be moulding buyers to stay with Harley-Davidson for later purchases.
Offering something affordable, and certainly more manageable, makes it an urban and daily choice for younger buyers who will actually be able to use the bike on a day to day basis. It will also help lower the average age of Harley-Davidson buyers. Image courtesy
