In order to compete with the cheaper Japanese bikes and to revamp their image as a youthful bike, Harley Davidson might just start using the liquid cooling engines for their bikes instead of the currently used air cooled one's, reports ICB.
Not compromising on its looks, Harley Davidson will design the liquid cool engine in such a way that it has the minimal number of changes and hoses. In the images here you can see some of the blueprints of the new liquid cooled Harley Davidson engine.
In recent years, Harley Davidson has realized that majority of people who are buying expensive bikes are in the sub 30 year old category. This segment of buyers is not interesting in committing themselves to maintaining their Harleys forever, as is the case with air cooled engine.
So in order to save themselves from the trouble, these buyers would prefer buying cheaper Japanese bikes which needs less looking after. Probably launching liquid cooled variant will be a heading for Harley in a new direction.
