Hennessey Venom GT is the fastest production car for 0-300 kmph
Hennessey Venom GT is capable of acceleration from 0 to 300 kmph in 13.63 seconds, due to which it has been declared as the fastest production car by Guinness World Records.
This was recorded on the VBox 3i GPS based data logging system at Ellington Airport in south east Houston, Texas. On test, the Lotus Elise based model fitted with Corvette ZR1 6.2 liter V8 LS9 engines completed the task in a matter of 13.18 seconds with a 4 mph tailwind. The second test saw the vehicle make a 14.08 second 6 mph headwind run. This prestigious record was earlier held by Koenigsegg Agera R that required 17.68 seconds time while the 1200 hp Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is capable of completing the same task in 22.2 seconds or 7.7 seconds slower than Venom GT.
Venom GT is powered by a LS9 7.0 twin turbocharged V8 engine capable of 1244 hp and 1155 lb/ft torque. It weighs 2743 pounds and costs $1.2 million.
