Hero Cycles was founded back in 1956 and is owned by the Munjal family, who also own Hero MotoCorp – worlds largest motorcycle manufacturer. To ensure Hero cycles reach far corners of the globe, the iconic Indian brand has signed a deal with Wall-Mart. By entering into a partnership with Wal-Mart, Hero will be selling its entire line of cycles through retail giant Wal-Mart’s network in various countries.

Pankaj Munjal, MD, Hero Cycles revealed that the company wants to increase its sales significantly. He said Hero Cycles aims at selling in excess of 10 million units by 2015. He also mentioned that Wal-Mart is a leader in retail sales and that through their network Hero would establish a strong global presence.

Hero Cycles is known for using aggressive sales and marketing strategies. Most sales strategies implemented by Hero have gone in their favor in India. Although the bicycle maker is yet take a decision on branding strategies of its various brands overseas, experts believe the company is going to invest a huge amount to accomplish its ambitious plans.
