Hero Dash 110cc scooter spied undisguised, could be called Duet or Specter

Hero MotoCorp aims to increase their share in the scooter segment with a new 110cc scooter called Hero Dash. The automatic scooter was recently spied inside company plant, and images confirm that it is ready to enter production.


Showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo as a concept, new spy shots also reveal that it will be offered in two variants – LX and VX. The more affordable, LX variant will receive a dual tone colour and no alloys. On the other hand, VX variant will sport a silencer cover, matching dual tone rear view mirror caps and tri-coloured exteriors. It will also receive a 12V socket for mobile phone charging.

Hero Dash will be powered by a 111cc single cylinder air cooled engine sporting Overhead Camshaft. This engine is capable of 8.56 PS power at 7,500 rpm and 9.4 Nm torque at 5,750 rpm with top speed at 80 kmph. The engine is mated to a CVT (Continuously Varying Transmission). Feature-wise, it will receive LCD display with analogue speedometer, lockable storage compartment in the front and Integrated Braking System. Target audience will be young male buyers.

Other features on board Hero Dash will include front telescopic fork, tubeless tyres with 90/90-12 upfront and 90/90-10 at the rear. One important feature on board Hero Dash, is the external fuel lid, so that the seat need not be opened up each time.

To be produced from the company plant in Gurgaon, Hero Dash is expected to be priced between INR 50,000-55,000. Once launched, it will compete with Suzuki Let’s, Mahindra’s Gusto, Honda Activa and TVS Jupiter.
