Hero HX250R 250 cc and Extreme Sports 150 cc motorcycle unveiled (Photos)
A total of 5 new products were unveiled by Hero MotoCorp today in Delhi. These are Hero Dash 110 cc scooter, Hero Leap hybrid electric scooter, Hero RNT Concept diesel bike, Hero Extreme Sports 150 cc motorcycle, and Hero HX250R 250 cc motorcycle. In this post we will talk about the new Extreme Sports and HX250R motorcycles.
Powered by a single cylinder 249 cc engine, the new Hero HX250R is their much awaited flagship motorcycle. Once launched, it will compete with the likes of Honda CBR250R, KTM 390, etc. Weighing just 1139 kgs, the new Hero HX250R features LED headlights and tail lights. Braking is taken care by disc- front 300 mm, rear 220 mm.
Key highlights of the new Hero HX250R are – liquid cooled engine, electronic fuel injection, six speed constant mesh gearbox, geodesic tubular frame, high quality 37 mm forks, low friction engine oil, closed crankcase ventilation system, maintenance free battery and improved handling and riding position.
Speaking about the new Extreme Sports, it is powered by a 149 cc engine generating 15.2 bhp and 12.8 Nm torque. Transmission is taken care by a 5 speed constant mesh gearbox. Tubeless tyres – 80/100 R18 front 110/90 R18 rear. Brakes – Front 240 mm disc, Rear – 130 mm drum (disc 220 mm optional). Fuel capacity is at 12.1 liters (reserve 1.5l).
Dimensions stand at 2100mm x 780mm x 1080mm (L x W x H). Hero Extreme Sports has a ground clearance of 160 mm and a kerb weight of 148 kgs. Updates include, new body graphics, new LED position, wider rear tyre, and maintenance free 12V-4Ah battery.
