Hero MotoCorp enters Forbes Global 2000 list

Hero MotoCorp has become the second two wheeler manufacturer in the country to enter Forbes elite list, which features the biggest public companies in the world. Called Forbes Global 2000, Hero MotoCorp is positioned at 1,912th spot in the list.

Hero MotoCorp enters Forbes Global 2000 listWith sales of $4.22 billion, Hero MotoCorp employs more than 5,800 people directly. As per the Forbes 2000 list, Hero MotoCorp stands at 1946 in sales, 1431 in profit, and 1389 in market value. Other Indian vehicle manufacturers in the list include Tata Motors at 332, Mahindra & Mahindra at 803, and Bajaj Auto at 1499.

Total sales of Hero MotoCorp stood at 5,71,054 units in April 2014 as against sales of 4,99,113 units in the same month last year, registering a 14.41% increase. Hero MotoCorp contributes increased sales in the month of April 2014 to new initiatives taken by the company, new launches, consumer friendly products and special emphasis on brand building, all of which have gone a long way to increasing sales and customer confidences.

The company introduced the Splendor iSmart with i3S technology which has immediately had a positive impact on the market and seeing growing demand. Apart from this, they have also introduced Glamour, Glamour FI and Super Splendor in the past few days.

In the month of April, Hero MotoCorp also launched its operations in Bangladesh through a joint venture with Nitol Niloy Group. It is through this new joint venture that Hero MotoCorp will set up its first two wheeler manufacturing plant outside India with the plant expected to be fully operational in first quarter of FY 2015-16.
