Hero MotoCorp to reveal 600 cc Hastur at 2014 Auto Expo
Hero MotoCorp is jointly developing a 600cc model in tandem with Erik Buell Racing. This 600cc bike, yet in concept stage and code named Hero Hastur will be unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo.
Competing against the likes of KTM Duke 690, the upcoming Hero Hastur 600cc is being developed both for Indian and international markets, The 600cc bike will be a tubular naked frame bike with twin exhausts as seen on the KTM Duke 200 and Duke 390. Leaked image of the concept shows several design cues of the Hastur which includes a raised fuel tank while it is seen in a striking color combination of black, grey and yellow. Overall body designs display its sporty applications.
While no other specifications have been revealed as on date, speculations indicate that Hero Hastur 600 cc could come in with a parallel twin engine (see image) producing around 80 bhp power and 65 Nm torque, while weight could be around 190 kgs. Pricing could be under INR 5 lakhs so as to be competitive with others in its category.
Hastur (which means Evoke) will be on display at 2014 Auto Expo and is a Hero MotoCorp’s offering as it competes in a market dominated by foreign manufacturers such as KTM, BMW, Ducati, Yamaha and Honda. Once launched Hero Hastur will compete with the likes of KTM Duke 690, Triumph Street Triple and Triumph Daytona 675.
