Hero MotoCorp is testing new bike possibly with new self developed engine
New Hero MotoCorp motorcycle is spied testing with heavy camouflage. Is it an all-new product with Hero’s own engine?
Recently, a camouflaged Hero Scooter was spied, which looked neither like the Dash 110 cc or the Dare 125 cc scooters unveiled at 2014 Delhi Auto Expo.
Alongside the said prototypes, Hero also showcased Xtreme Sports (updated version of 150 cc Hero Xtreme), Hero HX250R (the company’s first fully faired sport bike with 250 cc engine), Hero Leap (India’s first series hybrid scooter) and Hero RNT Concept (150 cc diesel motorcycle).
No news about a specific new commuter motorcycle was revealed by the Indian bike maker there or then, but the company did disclose that it will be launching a new range of two wheelers including motorcycles and scooters in the next 2 to 3 years.
Spied test mule could be one of them, a commuter bike, possible with a 110 cc or 125 cc engine, likely developed by Hero’s own R&D team. The bike in photo does look a lot like Hero Passion Pro; maybe a new version is being readied or the company may be testing its own engine in the next iteration of the popular nameplate.
