Honda and Nissan recalls to be looked into through March 2012

Honda and Nissan seem to be in the news for some auto recalls. Honda will be recalling Odyssey minivans due to complaints received for faulty gas filled struts on vehicles with power rear liftgate. Some 45,747 vehicles produced during model year 2008-09 will be recalled as there were complaints and this was backed by an official release from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Honda will be intimating their customers during the coming month after which all Honda dealers will be instructed to replace both gas struts free of cost for all vehicles brought in for rectification. The defective parts can cause a leak of pressurized gas leading to reduced strut performance.

At the same time, Nissan Versa, Nissan Altima are also being recalled due to defects in side curtain airbags. 976 vehicles of 2012 Nissan Altima and Versa will be recalled and owners are requested to contact their dealers for a free replacement of side curtain airbags. Recalls are expected to commence from this week.
