Honda Brio Amaze deisel sedan launch in India on 18 April 2013?
Honda’s first diesel powered car for India will arrive in the form of Brio based sedan, Amaze. Honda is yet to reveal official launch date for Brio Amaze, but the Amaze is set to arrive in the coming months.
Just like the Ford EcoSport launch date report revealed in the past few hours, Honda Brio Amaze too has an official launch date, reportedly. According to Motor Vikatan, Honda Cars India will launch the Amaze sedan on the 18th April 2013.
Honda Brio Amaze will be launched in India to compete with Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire, which gets around 15,000 average monthly sales. Powered by the new 1.5L Honda diesel engine, Amaze will be the first Honda car in India to be powered by a diesel engine. The other engine option will be the 1.2L petrol, which currently powers the Brio hatchback. The diesel engine will be manufactured at their plant in Tapukara, Rajasthan, and is said to be the most powerful and efficient engine in its segment India has seen.
Brio Amaze was launched in Thailand last year, but without the diesel engine. Later it was also showcased at the Thai Motor Expo along with Modulo Accents. The diesel engine of the Brio Amaze, is also expected to feature in future models of City and Jazz in India, but that wont happen before 2014.
