Honda Brio Automatic small car to be launched today in India (Photos)

The Indian auto market is being flooded with new models ahead of the festive season. Honda will be adding their new Honda Brio Automatic to the crowd as it is set for a launch later today. The Automatic variant of Honda Brio will be powered by a 1.2 liter i-VTEC engine which will generate 88 PS max power at 6000 rpm while peak torque is slated to be at 109 Nm at 4500 rpm mated to a five speed automatic transmission.

Fuel efficiency will stand at 16.5 kmpl, but the sad news is that there is no diesel variant being offered by Honda at least for the moment, but the company has promised one in the coming year. Honda has confirmed that they will be launching the new CR-V SUV early next year which will be followed by the launch of their first diesel car for India. Not much is known about Honda’s diesel car for India, but it is certain that it will be based on the Brio hatch and will be a sub 4 meter car.

Honda Brio Automatic will be able cruise at a maximum speed of 140 kmph and will have the capacity to sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 17.1 seconds. Honda is offering the car in a choice of two variants – S(O) and V and while ABS will be available in both variants the top end V variant will possess dual airbags. Prices of the new Honda Brio Automatic will be priced Rs.60,000 to Rs.70,000 over the manual version currently available in the market.
