Honda Brio Amaze, the all new sedan will enter the Indian auto industry in April 2013. The highlight of this car is not its boot, but the fact that, it will carry the first made for India diesel engine from Honda.
Once launched, Honda Brio Amaze will compete with Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire, which clocks an average of 15k units sales monthly in India. Dzire sedan is available in the range of INR 4.9 lakhs to INR 7.5 lakhs. So in order to be competitive in the segment, Honda India need to get a price tag in the INR 5 lakhs bracket for the Brio Amaze. Honda Brio Amaze will be powered by their all new 1.5L diesel engine, which according to them, is the best in its segment. Not only their diesel engine will be the most efficient (24 kmpl), but it will be also the most powerful in the segment to be seen in India.
Honda Cars India has two plants, one in Greater Noiad, the other in Tapukara, Rajashthan. It is from this plant in Tapukara, that the new Honda diesel engine will be manufactured. A more detailed outline towards the Brio Amaze gameplan for India will be revealed in the coming weeks.
