Honda CBR650F specs leaked: Rivals Ninja 650, Street Triple and Monster 795

Honda CBR650F launch in India is scheduled for sometime in August. Now, a leaked spec sheet from a recent dealer meet not only confirms tech specs, weight, power, torque, and other details, but also tells us which motorbikes in the segment are considered as rivals by HMSI.

Honda CBR650F was showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd will bring in Honda CBR650F as a completely knocked down unit. The bike will be assembled locally with 5% localization at the company’s Manesar plant. As per one report, the production will be capped at just two units a day, to maintain exclusivity, while it will go on sale at only 20 cities in India.

To be launched in only one color, the Honda CBR650F will be powered by a 649cc four cylinder, liquid cooled engine offering 87 PS power at 11,000 rpm and 63 Nm torque at 8,000 rpm mated to a 6 speed transmission. This engine allows the bike to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4 seconds and reach a top speed of 225 kmph.

Based on a twin spar steel frame, dimensions of the Honda CBR650F will include 2,110mm length, 755mm width and 1145mm height while it will sit on a wheelbase measuring 1450mm. The bike receives 320mm twin piston caliper front disc brakes and 240mm single piston caliper disc brakes at the rear while it also gets 41mm telescopic forks in front and swingarm monoshock strut at the rear.

Honda CBR650F for India will get ABS as standard

Features include a digital speedometer with two trip meters, anti lock braking system and a single piece headlight cluster while the bikes boasts of chiseled fairing and a more prominent fuel tank. Slated for launch in a few weeks, the Honda CBR650F is already available for booking at selected company showrooms while it is expected to be priced at around INR 8 lakhs.

The three main rivals to the Honda CBR650F in India are – Kawasaki Ninja 650, Triumph Street Triple and Ducati Monster 795 as per company spec sheet. But it will also rival Kawasaki Z800, Benelli TNT 600i, and Hyosung GT650R.
