Honda City VX(O) BL variant launched; Dual airbags made standard across the range

The new top-end Honda City VX(O) BL variant with black leather interiors have been launched in India. The new variant comes as a reaction to the younger audience’s preferences, say the company.

The VX(O) BL will continue to be sold alongside the existing VX(O) variant which offers beige leather interiors. Both variants come equipped with sun-roof and touchscreen infotainment system. The new grade will be available in both petrol and diesel manual variants in Premium White Orchid Pearl and Alabaster Silver color options.

In addition to the new variant, Honda has also announced that dual airbags will now be available as a standard equipment even in the base variant of the popular C-segment sedan. Rear ISOFIX mounts and top tether anchors are also made standard across the range. It’s to be noted that the City has been offering ABS with EBD as a standard equipment already.

Currently in its fourth generation, the sedan has been enjoying a successful run in India since its inception. The City is available with a 119 PS 1.5-litre iVTEC petrol engine mated either to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a stepped CVT. The diesel variant is powered by a 100 PS 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine which is matd to a 6-speed manual transmission.
