Honda doing Amaze’ingly well in sales: Posts Growth of 68% in April-Sept 2013
Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) performed well during the month of September despite a consistent slump in demand for passenger car segment in India over the last 8 consecutive months. The company recorded an 88% increase in domestic sales, from 5,508 units in September 2012 to 10,354 units in September 2013. During the period April to September 2012, HCIL sold 59,617 units recording cumulative growth to the tune of 68% over 35,440 units sold in the same period in the previous year.
During the past month HCIL sold 2,043 units of City Sedan, 1,452 units of Brio hatchback and 46 units of the Accord premium sedan. HCIL also sold 6,679 units of the recently launched Honda Amaze and 134 units of the CR-V sports utility vehicle.
Exports during the past month stood at 701 units taking cumulative sales to 11,055 units during the past month. HCIL has also introduced the Exclusive edition Honda Biro with an all black interior and a number of attractive accessories which they are sure will draw the attention of a younger and sportier section of buyers.
