Honda Jazz (Fit) configurator launched
2014 Honda Jazz was first launched in Japan, back in September last year. Now, in the second week of June, the new Jazz will be launched in the United States, where it is known as Fit. Before launch, Honda America has launched the online configurator, giving interested buyers a chance to design their own cars.
Honda Jazz made its US debut at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show back in January this year. For America, Jazz is being manufactured at their plant in Mexico. This is a new plant which is building the Jazz hatchback for the first time. To be offered in a choice of three trims – LX, EX and EX-L, price ranges from $15,525 (Rs 9.21 lakhs) to $20,800 (Rs 12.33 lakhs).
On offer under the hood is Honda’s 1.5l iVTEC which now delivers 130 hp (earlier one delivered about 117 hp). No diesel variant is on offer, and at start the 1.5l petrol will be the only engine on offer. Transmission of power is via a 6 speed manual or a CVT with pedal shifters.
As far as India launch of the new Jazz is concerned, Honda Cars India has confirmed that they will launch it by early 2015. Already showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo in February this year, Jazz is one of the most awaited cars in India. For India, the new Jazz will also come with their 1.5l Earth Dreams diesel engine, along with a petrol option.
Though the launch is still a few months away, Honda fans can have a look at the Jazz configurator here.
