The earlier Honda Jazz came into the country in 2009. Offered only with a petrol engine option, the car was discontinued in 2013. Now, 2015 Honda Jazz is all-set for launch on 8th July 2015, where it will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine option.
Officially teased on company website, the new Honda Jazz has now been rolled into a dealership. Considering that the launch is still about 1.5 months away, it is believed that Honda Cars India is planning to gauge customer interest by previewing the new Jazz at major dealerships across India.
2015 Honda Jazz will be the company’s first hatchback to be introduced with a 1.5 liter diesel engine. This is the same engine which is also seen on Honda’s City, Mobilio and Amaze. It offers 100PS of power and 200Nm torque. Apart from diesel, it will also be powered by a 1.2 liter petrol engine as seen on Brio. This engine offers 87bhp power with torque of 110Nm at 4,800rpm. Both these variants get 5 speed manual transmission, while petrol also gets a CVT with paddle shifters (the car in the images in this post is the CVT variant).
Honda claims that the new Jazz will see class leading interior space and a host of segment first features. Boasting of a new chrome grille, the model at dealership was in a brilliant shade of red. Interiors receive touch screen panel for climate control, music interface with FM/AM, Aux-In, USB and Bluetooth connectivity.
Interiors carry a similar layout as seen on board the City sedan. Seen in the image here is a all-black dashboard with silver surrounds on the AC vents. Steering wheel gets premium leather cover, while seats are in beige.2015 Honda Jazz will be offered in six exterior colour choices of White, Red, Silver, Titanium Metallic, Crystal Black, and Carnelian Red and in four trims to include E, S, V and VX.
Once launched, it will compete majorly with the premium hatchbacks like Hyundai Elite i20 and Volkswagen Polo. Expect a price range of Rs 5-8 lakhs.
