Hundreds of new Honda Jazz spied inside Rajasthan plant

The previous generation Honda Jazz failed to make any positive impact on Indian markets due to a higher price tag and lack of diesel powertrain, the new Jazz aims at achieving all this and more. The new generation Honda Jazz is slated to come in with an all new design and a diesel engine. The company has already started production in the country with launch promised before mid 2015.

 Hundred’s of Honda Jazz lying inside the company plant in Rajasthan. Around 600 units have already been produced, while the company plans to have about 5,000 units ready before launch.New Honda Jazz will receive engines as seen on board the Amaze which will include a 1.2 liter i-VTEC petrol producing 87 bhp peak power and 109 Nm torque and 1.5 liter i-DTEC diesel producing 98 bhp peak power and 200 Nm peak torque while a more powerful 1.5 liter i-VTEC (same as seen on City, generating 116 hp) is also being mulled along with a CVT option and paddle shifters.

Showcased at 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, the new generation Jazz hatchback will see extensive localization (at least 90%) so as to allow the company to keep prices competitive. It will be around 15mm longer than its predecessor and sit on a wheelbase which is increased by 30mm. Flexible seating, spacious interiors will be the highlight of this new 2014 Honda Jazz which will show off the company’s popular “Man Maximum Machine Minimum” design philosophy. New Honda Jazz hatchback is expected to come in a price range from INR 5 to INR 8 lakhs.

Besides the new Honda Jazz planned for launch in the coming months, the company is also planning a new compact SUV, new Accord, Civic and CR-V, in the coming years.
