Honda Mobilio ‘launching in a few months’ – Official

Detailed on the company website, the upcoming Honda Mobilio MPV made its debut in India at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo in February. Expected to be launched in third quarter of this year, just ahead of  festive season in India, Mobilio will compete with Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and Nissan Evalia.

Mobilio 7 seater MPV will measure 4.4 meters in length and hence internal space will be at a premium as compared to the Maruti Ertiga. It will also have ground clearance of 185mm which is highly impressive as compared to that seen on many of the MPVs currently on sale in India.

To enter production at Honda plant in Greater Noida, the company website offers an insight into details of Honda Mobilio MPV which will come in with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol mill will be a 1.5 liter i-VTEC four cylinder engine also doing duty on the new City which is capable of 119 ps power and 145 Nm torque while delivering 18 kmpl. The engine is mated to a 5 speed manual and CVT gearbox. The diesel engine is a 1.5 liter, four cylinder i-DTEC engine doing duty on the new Amaze and City which is capable of 100 ps power and 200 Nm torque with fuel efficiency of 26 kmpl thus making Honda Mobilio MPV the most fuel efficient car in its league. Price range can be expected in the Rs 6-9 lakh bracket.

Ever since the introduction of a diesel engine in India, sales of Honda have only registered growth. Now, with new Mobilio launch on the anvil, and production commenced at their new plant in Rajasthan, Japanese automaker can only grow to new heights in India.
