Honda India has uploaded a video teasing Mobilio, to send a message that it will be launched soon. But it can also mean they are trying to buy more time as the teaser clearly says that the car shown in the video is just a representation and not the Indian version. Will Maruti fans wait longer for Mobilio?
Built on Brio and Amaze’s platform, Mobilio will be manufactured in Honda’s Greater Noida plant. To compete against Maruti Ertiga, Mobilio will be offered in petrol and diesel variants, with engines already seen aboard Honda’s new City. The 1.5 litre iVTEC petrol engine delivers 118 PS max. power at 6,600 rpm and 146 Nm peak torque at 4,800 rpm. The 1.5 litre iDTEC diesel engine generating 100 PS max. power at 3,600 rpm and 200 Nm peak torque at 1,750 rpm.
The first ever 7 seater from Honda for India will measure longer than Maruti Ertiga but poses with lesser height and width. Still, Honda has managed to provide roomy cabin making it as comfortable as Honda cars are known be. Price of Mobilio is speculated to compete closely with Ertiga’s, at a range between Rs. 6.1 and Rs. 8.5 lakhs.
