54 families took part in Honda Mobilio mileage challenge, who were divided into two classes. Own Mobilio users belonged to class A and those driving dealerships’ Mobilios belonged to Class B. Fuel economy of each car was simply noted down from Multi Information Display (MID) located at instrument console.
Top 3 mileage gainers in series two exceeded 20 kmpl mark and won cash prize of Rp 5 million (Rs. 82,994 approx.). They are Cindy Ong (21.1 kmpl), William Tanzir Jaya (21.1 kmpl) and Zaenal Abidin (20.5 kmpl). Three more families who came close to 20 kmpl (with average of 19.6 kmpl) received Rp 2 million (Rs. 33,197 approx.) cash prize.
Honda Mobilio sales went up by 28.6 percent last month in Indonesia, making it more difficult for Suzuki Ertiga to be second best seller in the country again. Powered by 1.5 litre 4 cylinder i-VTEC engine producing 116.3 bhp max. power at 6,600 rpm and 146 Nm peak torque at 4,800 rpm, Mobilio is rated to return mileage of around 18 kmpl. To be launched in India in July 2014, lets see the level of fuel economy achieved here, especially with the diesel variant, which is the most fuel efficient in its class.
