Honda Mobilio spied inside a dealership before official launch
With launch of the 7 seater Honda Mobilio MPV confirmed for July, first units have started arriving at company dealerships across the country for special dealer training programs. Once launched, Honda Mobilio MPV will compete with Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
Honda Mobilio made its presence felt at the 2014 Auto Expo. It is based on the Brio platform. As experienced with Amaze and the new City, Mobilio is also expected to bring more sales for the Japanese brand in India.
Mobilio, the 7 seater compact MPV, is being presented as a private family vehicle. It will pose direct competition to both Maruti Ertiga, Nissan Evalia, and Chevrolet Enjoy. Expected to be priced aggressvively, mostly in the Ertiga range, Mobilio will be produced at Honda’s Greater Noida plant.
Sporting third row seating, Mobilio will receive same front fascia as seen on the Brio while tail lights will resemble those present on the new City sedan. Spacious interiors, comfortable seating and new alloy wheels will be highlights of Mobilio which will also receive reverse camera and touchscreen infotainment system.
Engine specifications on board the soon to be launched Honda Mobilio will include either a 1.2L i-VTEC seen on Brio and Amaze generating 88 PS power or 1.5 liter i-VTEC petrol engine offering 119 PS peak power and 145 NM peak torque as seen on the new City. Transmission will be taken care by a 5 speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox. Its diesel engine will be in the form of a 1.5 liter i-DTEC engine also seen on board both Amaze and City which is capable of 100 PS peak power and 200 Nm peak torque mated to a manual gearbox.
