Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India 11% sales growth in June’13, 95,000 waiting customers
While the two wheeler industry in the country continued with negative sales for third month in a row, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd., (HMSI) has recorded total sales of 252,114 units in June 2013. HMSI had sold 2,26,929 units in June 2012 registering an 11% increase in sales in the past month.
Production capacity has been augmented to meet this increased demand and the company has commenced production operations from its 3rd plant in Narsapura, Karnataka. It is from this new plant that the company will be manufacturing Dream Yuga and Activa I models. Two new models were launched which include the Dream Yuga and Honda CBR 250R besides the recently launched CB Trigger and Dream Neo all of which have found immediate favor with customers which can be judged with a long waiting list of 95,000 buyers.
“While Indian 2W industry witnessed a de-growth of 5%, Honda continues to lead on back of strong customer demand and has clocked 11% growth in June 2013. With the start of 3rd plant in mid June, we are working with new speed to satisfy our 95,000 waiting customers faster with quality products and services near them.
