GET FREE AUTO ALERTS Honda has revealed that the small car to be launched in 2011 is set to be fitted with 80% components made in India. The small car rides high as of now as Honda intend to sell a large number of these vehicles, equivalent to the sales figure of their ever popular City. The company will be ready to meet such high demands after launch.
The concept has already been made public at the Auto expo 2010. Replete with 80% localisation of components, the small car will roll out from the Greater Noida plant. Honda is also looking at increasing localisation of components in their existing fleet of vehicles plying Indian roads.
Current % of localisation of components:
- Honda City = 75%
- Honda Jazz = 75%
- Honda Civic = 71 %
- Honda Accord = 28 %.
