Horrific Lamborghini Gallardo accident in Indonesia – Video

A horrific crash took place in Indonesia yesterday. As is seen in most cases, the accident was a result of negligent driving and breaking traffic rules.

Reports suggest that two cars, a Lamborghini and a Ferrari were racing on the streets of Surabaya, one of the largest cities in Indonesia. Racing on public roads is not only illegal, but also very dangerous. The fact, which the driver of hopefully both cars have learnt the hard way.

While racing, the Lamborghini Gallardo driver lost control, as he had to suddenly maneuver to avoid accident with pedestrians. In doing so, he jumped on to the footpath where there were a few people standing around a road-side drinks stall.

Though the Lamborghini driver had applied full brakes, his car failed to come to a halt and hit the people standing there and the stall. This left at least one dead, and a few injured. After that the car went and hit the gates of a building, and finally hitting a tree, before coming to a halt.

Completely totaled, driver of the Lamborghini Gallardo is seen in the video below trying to exit the car from its window as the door is jammed. He is also seen talking on the phone, trying to ask for help. A lady is seen sitting on the road, injured and unable to recover from the shock.

Lamborghini Gallardo which has been totaled above, is the LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale. Launched in 2011, only 150 units were ever made. It is powered by a 5.2 liter V10 engine generating 570 PS and 540 Nm torque. It does 0-100 kmph in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 320 kmph.

A few minutes after the crash, the driver of the Lamborghini Gallardo with license plate B 2258 WM was taken into police custody. Name of the driver has been reported as Wiyang Lautner. The person killed on the spot, was identified as 51 year old Kuswanto, who was buying a drink from the stall. The injured lady on the ground in the video is his 41 year old wife Srikanti. She has a fracture in her leg. The owner of the stall, 44 year old Mujianto too has broken a leg and is in the hospital.

Police have confiscated the car, and are investigating the case. Ferrari driver had fled the scene after the accident.
