Hyundai Creta earns an astounding amount for the company – Can you guess how much?

First launched in India in July 2015, Creta is now one of the best selling cars in India. To meet growing demand, Hyundai Creta production has been increased to 12,000 units per month. This will help Hyundai to bring down huge waiting periods and meet demand more efficiently in the domestic market.

The car has been performing exceptionally well for the company. In the financial year ending 31st March 2017, Hyundai managed to sell more than 80,000 units of Creta. This translates into revenue of more than INR 10,000 crore for the company (calculating on-road average value of INR 12.5 lakh of each unit).

Since July 2015, about 2 lakh bookings for Hyundai Creta have been registered while the company made about 1.5 lakh deliveries till March 2017. Noting average monthly sales to the extent of 10,000 units and waiting periods extending from two to two and half months, Hyundai Creta’s success story is far from over.

HMIL currently produces 12,000 units of the Hyundai Creta of which 10,000 units are for domestic sales while the balance 2,000 units are exported. HMIL has received a good response for the Hyundai Creta from global markets that include Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East.

Hyundai Creta bookings have crossed 1.5 lakh mark. It has also become the most successful new SUV in India.

Hyundai India MD and CEO Y K Koo also revealed plans to transform the company into a modern premium brand in India. HMIL registered 16 percent growth last year while market share stood at 17.3 percent. Two new vehicle launches each year, up-gradation of dealerships and quality showrooms are also being planned while the company protects its brand image and has no plans on competing with low priced cars.
