Hyundai Eon 1.0L bookings open, deliveries start in May
The Korean automaker’s new entry level hatchback Eon is now available with a more powerful engine. Hyundai Eon 1.0L has been launched in India. Hyundai has commenced dispatching the Eon 1.0L to dealers who on their part have already commenced bookings for a down payment of INR 10,000. With confirmed bookings, dealers have assured delivers in three weeks.
Hyundai has priced 1.0-litre Eon Magna trim at INR 3.85 lakhs ex-showroom, Mumbai, for its metallic shade version while non-metallic shade is INR 3.83 lakhs. The new 1.0 liter Eon will receive features such as air conditioning, power steering and front power windows besides an immobilizer and keyless entry. The new Eon model will sit on 13” steel wheels and receive full wheel covers. However, no music system is being provided on the Eon 1.0 Magna variant. Surprisingly, Hyundai is not offering airbags, even as an option, with this variant.
Engine updates on the Eon will include a 1.0 liter, three cylinder engine as is seen doing duty on the European spec Hyundai i10. This engine is capable of 65 bhp power and 9.7 kgm torque and mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Once launched, the new Eon 1 liter will compete with the Alto K10, Chevrolet Spark and recently launched Datsun Go.
