New Hyundai Xcent Facelift India Launch Price INR 5.38 lakh

Based on the new Grand i10 facelift, the new Xcent facelift has been launched in India. As is seen on the current Xcent, the facelift will continue to feature a length of under 4 meter, while width will be same as that of it’s hatchback sibling. It will rival the likes of Maruti DZire, Honda Amaze, Tata Zest and the newly launched VW Ameo.

On the outside, Xcent will be seen with a revised front and back. Interiors too are revised. Biggest update on the inside is the addition of a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system on the dashboard.

2017 Hyundai Xcent Exteriors

The facelifted Hyundai Xcent will sport a host of exterior updates as compared to its earlier counterpart. These include a wider front grille and new fog lamp housing besides a new rear bumper. Its top end variants will sit on 14” diamond cut alloy wheels.

In terms of dimensions, there will be no change between the outgoing Xcent and the facelift. It will measure 3,995 mm in length, 1,660 mm in width, 1,520 mm in height and sit on a wheelbase measuring 2,425 mm. The ground clearance stands at 165 mm along with boot volume of 407 liters. Fuel tank capacity stands at 43 liters, as was seen in its predecessor.

On the inside, it will get a revised dashboard with touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with smartphone, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. It also features 2 Din integrated audio system with 1 GB internal memory, steering mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, rear AC vents and push button key.

Xcent facelift also comes gets a cooled glove box, smart key function and driver’s side auto down power window. Safety features will include airbags, ABS, adjustable and foldable OVRMs and rear parking sensors as the vehicle itself sits on 14” alloy wheels.

2017 Hyundai Xcent Facelift – Engine

Engine options too will be in the form one petrol and one diesel. Petrol engine will be all-aluminum 1.2 litre Kappa petrol engine with Dual VTVT mechanism delivering 83PS @ 6,000rpm power and 114 Nm @ 4,000rpm of peak torque with mileage of 20.14 kmpl for the MT variant and 17.36 kmpl for the AT variant.

Diesel engine has been updated from the existing 1.1 liter to 1.2 liter option. This is a more refined engine, delivering more power and better fuel efficiency. This engine delivers 75 PS power at 4000 rpm and 190 Nm at 1750 rpm. Mileage claimed is 25.4 kmpl.

Variants & Features

New Hyundai Xcent will be offered in five trims – E, E+, S, SX and SX (O). This means, as per the new nomenclature, there is no longer a Base trim, instead we have the E, and a new trim called the E+. The biggest change is that the ABS are no longer standard across range. ABS are only on offer with the SX and SX (O) trims.

Other features lost in the base grade are manual dimming of IRVM, full wheel cover, digital clock, and a blacked-out B pillar. What it gains is a passenger airbag, and an AMS – Alternator Management System. The S grande of new Xcent no longer has the driver seat height adjustment lever.

The top of the line SC and SX (O) variants get 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system which is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The variants also get Shark Fin antenna, steering mounted controls, including one for voice commands, and DRLs. What the top end variants lose is the auto dimming mirror, cluster ionizer, and 1 GB inbuilt storage space.
