Apart from the new i10 sedan, Hyundai will also launch the all new Santa Fe SUV on 6th February, probably at their stand in Delhi Auto Expo venue at Greater Noida’s India Expo Mart.
Based on the new recently launched Grand i10 hatchback, the new sedan will be launched to compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire and Honda Amaze. It will feature a length of under 4 meter, while width will be same as that of it’s hatchback sibling. Interiors too will be same, as no change is expected, apart from an added boot space.
Engine options too will continue to be the same, in the form one petrol and one diesel. Petrol engine will the all-aluminum 1.2 litre Kappa petrol engine with Dual VTVT mechanism delivering 83PS @ 6,000rpm power and 11.6Kgm @ 4,000rpm of peak torque with mileage of 18.9 kmpl (ARAI figure for Grand i10 hatchback). Diesel engine will be 2nd generation U2 CRDi diesel delivering 71PS @ 4,000rpm of power and 16.3kgm @ 1,500~2,750rpm of peak torque with mileage of 24.0 kmpl (ARAI figure for hatchback).
The new Grand i10 hatchback from Hyundai has become one of the top 5 best selling cars in India, within a space of less than 90 days. It features 2 Din integrated audio system with 1 GB internal memory, steering mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, rear AC vents and push button key. The Grand i10 also comes in with a cooled glove box, smart key function and driver’s side auto down power window. Safety features will include adjustable and foldable OVRMs and rear parking sensors as the vehicle itself sits on 14” alloy wheels. These same features will be carried on to the sedan.
Not much is revealed on the price of the sedan, but seeing the current trend, expect the price of Hyundai’s new Grand i10 sedan to start from Rs 5.2 lakh for the petrol base variant, and Rs 6.2 lakh for the diesel base model. Just like it’s hatchback variant, the sedan too will be offered in 4 trims of petrol and 4 trims of diesel namely, Era, Magna, Sportz, and Asta (o). Manual transmission will be on offer on the diesel i10 sedan, while for petrol i10 sedan, automatic and manual transmission will be on offer. (source) (images)
