Hyundai HB20 outsells Toyota Etios in Brazil
Brazil Car of the Year for 2013, the new Hyundai HB20 hatchback, has managed to post robust sales in the Brazil car market. It even outdid the Toyota Etios.
As per inputs received by a Brazilian dealer – Fenabrave, 8,077 units of HB20 were sold in Brazil in November 2012 receiving a ranking of No.9 in terms of sales volume among smaller cars in the country. Its popularity can be gauged when comparing the HB20 to its arch rival Toyota Etios of which only 1,322 units were sold in the same month.
General Motors also recently launched the Onix in Brazil of which sales reached 7,409 units again considerably less than the ever popular HB20. Plans are afoot to sell 200,000 units of HB20 in Brazil during the year which will include 150,000 units of HB20 produced at the company plant in Brazil. The model is prized for its fluidic design making it a top 10 model with over 24,000 orders already received.
