In a bid to offer support and training to youth in underdeveloped African nations, Hyundai Motor Company along with KOICA and PLAN Korea will be setting up technical Training Centers in Ghana. This project will assist in helping youth in these African nations to equip themselves with technical training so as to offer good job opportunities.
Hyundai Motor Company will set up this center by September 2012 where 300 students will be offered three year training. Hyundai will not only set up the center, but will also be paying teachers to formulate the curriculum and will ensure jobs for those that graduate at the Hyundai Service Centers.
As per statistics received there are about 250,000 youth in Ghana that enter the labor market annually. Out of these only 2% secure jobs while the balance youth are either unemployed or have temporary jobs. This kind of training will ensure better all round training equipping the youth of Ghana to be auto mechanics and offering them opportunities to be self reliant thereby reducing poverty in the country.
