2015 Hyundai i20 Elite interiors spied, similar to Grand i10
India will be one of the first markets to get the new and improved 2015 Hyundai i20. In a wider stance and with more premium features, the Hyundai i20 is to be launched on August 11, 2014. Official sketches were revealed this morning, which confirmed the launch date and start of bookings.
Spied while on test on a number of occasions this year, 2015 Hyundai i20 will replace its older counterpart. With updates ditching its conservative styling for an aggressive one, new i20 will be called Elite i20.
Continuing with a classy theme introduced on board the new Genesis and Sonata sedans, the new Elite i20 will receive features to include a redesigned front fascia, stretched headlamps, new grill and sharper bumpers. The new i20 also receives a flat roof with a more distinctive shoulder line besides a blacked out C pillar on top end variants.
Seen in a dual toned black-beige interior, the Hyundai Elite i20 interiors are dominated by a new dashboard design and center stack in two sections, one for air conditioning controls and the other for stereo. Interiors of the new i20 will also sport a MID screen, a dead pedal, push button start and controls for audio and phone incorporated into the steering wheel.
In a sub 4 meter hatchback segment, the Elite i20 from Hyundai will see no changes where engine configurations are concerned. The new i20 will be powered by 1.2 liter and 1.4 liter petrol engines and 1.4 liter diesel engine. The 1.2 liter petrol will be mated to a 5 speed manual transmission while the 1.4 liter petrol will be mated to a 5 speed automatic transmission. The lone diesel engine gets mated to a 6 speed manual transmission.
Hyundai i20 will be priced at INR 5-7.5 lakhs and will compete with Maruti Suzuki Swift, VW Polo, Fiat Punto Evo and the upcoming Tata Bolt, Honda Jazz. Photo credit: Neeraj Verma
